‘This Is Us’ Gets Broadcast Networks Back in Drama Race for First Time Since 2011

“This Is Us” just accomplished something that hasn’t happened in quite a while.

The popular NBC time-jumping family show landed a slew of key Emmy nominations on Thursday morning, including Outstanding Drama Series. It marks the first time that a drama on the broadcast networks has landed in the category since CBS’ “The Good Wife” for the 2010-2011 season.

This has been a bit of comeback year for broadcast, led by “This Is Us,” which also landed key nominations for cast members Sterling K. Brown, Milo Ventimiglia and Chrissy Metz.

Other shows from the Big Four scoring nods big nods include “Modern Family” and “Black-ish.”
