‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ Casts ‘How to Make It in America’ Star Victor Rasuk as Jose

Jamie Dornan, Dakota Johnson, Luke Grimes and Jennifer Ehle star in the highly-anticipated movie

“How to Make It in America” star Victor Rasuk has been cast as Jose in “Fifty Shades of Grey,” an individual familiar with the project has told TheWrap.

Jose is described as an amateur photographer and close friend of Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson). The two of them met as freshman at WSUV and recognized each other as “kindred spirits.”  Ana sees Jose as “the brother [she] never had.”

Jamie Dornan stars as Christian Grey, while other cast members include Luke Grimes as Christian’s brother and Jennifer Ehle as Anastasia’s mother.

Sam Taylor-Johnson is directing the adaptation of E L James’ bestselling novel for Universal and Focus. Kelly Marcel wrote the screenplay, which was then polished by Patrick Marber and Mark Bomback.

Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti are producing the movie, which hits theaters on Aug. 1, 2014.

Rasuk recently appeared in “Jobs” and will soon be seen in “Godzilla.” He’s repped by the Gersh Agency.
