Director of Leonardo DiCaprio’s ‘Before the Flood’ Doc Blasts ‘Insane’ Donald Trump (Exclusive Video)

Toronto 2016: Fisher Stevens describes how he feels the Republican nominee is “dangerous” for denying climate change

The director of Leonardo DiCaprio‘s “Before the Flood” documentary about climate change blasted Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump as an “insane person” whose rejection of environmental science was “dangerous.”

“Who knows what goes on in the mind of that insane person?” Fisher Stevens said Saturday at TheWrap’s studio at the Toronto Film Festival, where his film had its world premiere.

“He’s in our movie denying climate change,” said Stevens, who spent several years following Oscar-winning actor DiCaprio around the globe to chronicle the environmental effects of global warming, from flooded streets in Florida to smog in China to depleted forests in Indonesia.

“He probably doesn’t even really care — he just wants to tell people one thing one day, another thing another day,” Stevens said of the reality TV star-turned-politician. “But he’s dangerous in that world.”

Stevens won an Oscar himself for the 2009 documentary “The Cove,” about dolphin-hunting practices in Japan.
