Former ‘Bachelor’ Chris Soules Called 911 Before Fleeing Scene of Deadly Crash (Audio)

The reality star was arrested and has been released on bond after rear-ending a tractor

Former “Bachelor” star Chris Soules called 911 and checked the pulse of the man killed in the deadly car crash he fled from, according to newly released audio recordings.

Soules, 35, was taken into custody by the Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office in Iowa after the truck he was driving rear-ended a tractor at around 8 p.m. Monday night. According to local station KWWL, both vehicles went into a ditch. Kenneth Mosher, 66, who was driving the tractor died and Soules fled the scene, leaving his truck behind.

On the newly released audio of the 911 call Soules placed before leaving the scene of the crash, he’s heard describing the victim’s state to the operator, who urges the Iowa resident to stay on the line as police and medical were dispatched to the scene.

Soules was also heard on the call relaying that Mosher did not appear to be breathing but had a pulse.

Soules was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident where a death occurred. He posted his $10,000 bond after court and was released, according to KWWL.

TMZ reported that Soules was in possession of alcoholic beverage containers at the time of the crash. Witnesses identified him at the scene and called the police.

Soules appeared on “The Bachelor” for Season 19 in 2015 after appearing on “The Bachelorette” in Season 10. He proposed to Whitney Bischoff in the finale, but the two called off their engagement. Since then, he’s appeared on other reality shows like “Dancing with the Stars” and “Worst Cooks in America: Celebrity Edition.”
