‘Game of Thrones’ Star Kit Harington Goes Off to War in First ‘Testament of Youth’ Trailer (Video)

The WWI drama also stars Alicia Vikander

A generation is lost to war in the first trailer for “A Testament of Youth,” based on the memoirs of pacifist Vera Brittain.

Swedish actress Alicia Vikander plays Brittain in the movies, which chronicles her education at Oxford University and her romance with Roland Leighton, played by “Game of Thrones” star Kit Harington.

The budding romance is put to the test when Roland decides to enlist to fight as World War I breaks out. Vera herself is not left unscathed as she’s forced to delay getting her degree in order to work as a V.A.D. nurse.

“Testament of Youth” was the first of three memoirs Vera Brittain published during her lifetime. It was followed by “Testament of Friendship” and “Testament of Experience.”

“A Testament of Youth,” directed by James Kent, will be released in the UK on Jan. 2, 2015 and has no US release date yet.
