Libertarian Nominee Gary Johnson Answers Serious Question With Tongue Sticking Out (Video)

Presidential candidate confuses NBC News reporter with strange response

In a recent interview with NBC News that was examined in depth on Friday’s installment of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” Libertarian party presidential nominee Gary Johnson inexplicably stuck out his tongue during a serious conversation about the election.

The bizarre action wasn’t a simple gesture. Johnson literally stuck out his tongue, kept it out and attempted to answer Kasie Hunt’s query about whether he could pull even with Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton if he were allowed to participate in Monday’s debate.

“I’m not gonna stand up there for the whole debate and not say anything, and [inaudible],” Johnson said with his tongue hanging out.

“Morning Joe” co-host Mika Brzezinski appeared absolutely shocked by the tongue situation, as Hunt, who was in studio with Brzezinski to discuss the interview, said, “It’s never happened to me in an interview before.”

Of course, this isn’t the first time that Johnson showed odd behavior on the network. On another recent episode of “Morning Joe,” the former New Mexico governor did not seem to know that Aleppo is the city at the center of the conflict in Syria.

“What is Aleppo?” he asked, in a widely mocked moment.

In that instance, MSNBC’s Mike Barnicle looked shocked and replied, “You’re kidding.”

“Morning Joe” co-host Joe Scarborough said Johnson “disqualified himself” because of the mishap and political reporters on Twitter weren’t even as kind.

Viewers on social media were also in disbelief, with one person tweeting, “Give me one smart voter who is for Johnson after this, and I will give you a dumb voter.”
