American soccer star Hope Solo was arrested Friday night for allegedly battering her sister and 17-year-old nephew at her home in the Seattle suburb of Kirkland, according to a report in the Seattle Times.

The Kirkland police told the newspaper that they responded to a 911 call from a male caller just before 1:00 a.m. When police arrived at the home, shared by Solo and her husband, former NFL tight end Jerramy Stevens, they found a besotted Solo and two injured relatives.

Solo is the goalie for the U.S. national soccer team. A two-time gold medalist, she is one of the best goalies in the world. She is also prone to blunt public statements, and has often been a lightning rod for controversy as a result.

Solo, who also appeared on “Dancing with the Stars,” was having a party with Stevens, who had previously been arrested for allegedly assaulting Solo. He was never charged, and they married shortly thereafter.

Solo, 32, is being held in the South King County jail without bail.
