‘Good Doctor’ Nabs Full-Season Order at ABC After 2 Episodes

The Good Doctor” is in at ABC.

The Freddie Highmore-starring medical drama has landed a full-season order, the network announced Tuesday.

“Good Doctor” is based on a South Korean series of the same name and hails from Sony Pictures Television and ABC Studios. David Shore (“House”) is showrunner and executive produces.

The series is broadcast TV’s most-watched new drama after its first two episodes. Highmore plays Dr. Shaun Murphy, a young surgeon with autism and savant syndrome.

“We are thrilled to announce that we are giving our viewers additional episodes of ‘The Good Doctor,’” said ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey. “We have an amazing team in front of and behind the camera, led by Freddie Highmore’s incredibly nuanced performance as Dr. Shaun Murphy, and we’re confident the show will continue to captivate our audience.”
