“Game of Thrones” star Alexander Siddig has been set to play Ra’s al Ghul on Fox’s “Gotham,” the network announced Thursday.
Siddig will make his debut later this season, and recur in multiple episodes.
As Bruce (David Mazouz) pulls the veil off the Court of Owls, he finds the man pulling the strings is the enigmatic and powerful Ra’s al Ghul. With his past shrouded in mystery, Ra’s al Ghul uses cunning and deception to lay waste to his foes.
As the leader of an international criminal organization known as the League of Shadows, Ra’s Al Ghul will prove himself to be Bruce’s most dangerous adversary yet.
This marks the second time Ra’s al Ghul will appear on a DC comic book TV show. On The CW’s “Arrow,” Ra’s was played by Matt Nable before the mantle was passed to John Barrowman.
Liam Neeson played the character in Christopher Nolan’s “Batman Begins.”
Siddig, best known for his roles as Dr. Bashir on “Star Trek” and Doran Martell on “Game of Thrones,” most recently starred on “Peaky Blinders.” He is represented by Markham, Froggatt and Irwin and Anonymous Content.
