HBO Goes Into the Studio With the Foo Fighters in New Documentary Series (Video)

The Foo Fighters create “a musical map of America” in the first look at “Sonic Highways”

During a special presentation of the 29th Annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Saturday, HBO premiered a teaser trailer for documentary series, “Foo Fighters: Sonic Highways.”

The series will follow the band to eight cities where they found inspiration and recorded songs for their eighth album. The currently untitled album is set for a November release.

“You can tie all these people and places together with these sonic highways,” lead singer Dave Grohl said in the trailer.

Grohl, who directed the series, made his directorial debut in 2013 with the Grammy Award-winning documentary “Sound City.”

“Foo Fighters: Sonic Highways” will premiere on HBO this fall in time for the band’s 20th anniversary.
