Aly Michalka has snagged one of the recast roles on The CW’s “iZombie,” a show representative told TheWrap.

She’ll play Peyton, the roommate and best friend to the show’s main character, Liv (Rose McIver). Previously, the role was played by Alexandra Krosney (“Last Man Standing,” “Surviving Suburbia”).

This casting represents a comeback to The CW for Michalka, who was the lead on the network’s one and done cheerleading comedy “Hellcats” in 2011. She has also played recurring roles on “Two and a Half Men” and “Phil of the Future.”

In addition to McIver, Michalka joins Malcolm Goodwin, Rahul Kohli, Robert Buckley and Dave Anders on the show’s cast.

From “Veronica Mars” creator Rob Thomas, “iZombie” stars Rose McIver as Liv — a med student-turned-zombie who takes a job in the coroner’s office to gain access to the brains she must reluctantly eat to maintain her humanity.

With each brain Liv consumes, she inherits the corpse’s memories. With the help of her medical examiner boss and a police detective, she solves homicide cases in order to quiet the disturbing voices in her head.
