Hillary Clinton’s Benghazi Hearing Ratings: Fox News Channel Tops CNN, MSNBC Combined

FNC finishes first in primetime analysis as well

Hillary Clinton

No one enjoyed Hillary Clinton’s Benghazi hearing quite like Fox News Channel. We mean strictly from a TV ratings perspective, of course.

FNC topped CNN and MSNBC combined in both the key 25-54 demographic and total viewers across total day Thursday. The hearing itself began at 10 a.m. ET. Fox pulled out of it around 5 p.m., while MSNBC and CNN continued their coverage.

The Roger Ailes-run cable news channel also dominated primetime, when analysis was all the rage.

Per Nielsen’s total day metric, Fox pulled 1.637 million total viewers, with 290,000 from the main demo. MSNBC had 778,000 total viewers, with 121,000 in the demo. CNN was lower in total viewers with 690,000, but finished as runner-up in the demo, pulling 148,000 viewers.

In the primetime hours of 8-11 p.m., FNC grabbed 2.547 million, with 465,000 in the demo. MSNBC was again second in total viewers but third in the demo, with 1.409 million and 233,000, respectively. CNN had 1.283 million total viewers and 288,000 in the advertiser-coveted segment.
