Idris Elba Decides to Fight to New U2 Music in Second ‘Mandela’ Trailer (Video)

“Ordinary Love” is the Irish rock band’s first new song since 2010

Nelson Mandela may have won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993, but years earlier, he was not opposed to wreaking havoc on the oppressive South African government.

The second trailer for the Weinstein Company’s “Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom,” starring Idris Elba as Mandela, focuses on the anti-Apartheid activist’s violent activities, which landed him in prison for nearly 20 years.

“We are the people of this nation, but we don’t have rights,” Elba says during a speech as Mandela. “There comes a time when there remains two choices: Submit or fight!”

With the vocal approval of his audience, he chooses the latter. Cue the brand new U2 single, “Ordinary Love.”

Justin Chadwick (“The Other Boleyn Girl”) directed the upcoming biopic co-starring Naomie Harris (“Skyfall”) as Mandela’s wife, Winnie.

“Mandela” opens in limited release on Nov. 29.
