It’s hip to be square at this year’s Academy Awards.

Instagram and Vanity Fair are partnering up for the Oscars to create a portrait studio inside the magazine’s iconic awards show party for the second year in a row.

Famed portrait photographer Mark Seliger will also return as Vanity Fair’s official Instagram photographer, capturing stills of famous  guests throughout the night that will be uploaded to the mobile app.

At last year’s extravagent bash, Benedict Cumberbatch, Lupita Nyong’o and Neil Patrick Harris were just a few of the party guests snapped by Seliger and then uploaded exclusively to Vanity Fair’s Instagram account. In addition to working with Harris again, Seliger says he’s excited to see everyone from nominees Michael Keaton and Eddie Redmayne to presenters and performers such as Reese Witherspoon and Lady Gaga.

Seliger, who’s renowned for his Rolling Stone covers in addition to work for Time, GQ, Vanity Fair and Details, has shot hundreds of Hollywood stars and high profile figures including Kurt Cobain, President Barack Obama and Angelina Jolie. But the photographer, who boasts 18,500 Instagram followers himself, is equally comfortable framing shots for the social app’s square format.

“Photography has always been a paintbrush for me, so it just means having the ability to use another visual format,” Seliger told TheWrap. He also appreciates the exposure to a digital fan base. “It’s a great way to be able to present your photography to a much broader audience, with an instant connection.”

The 86th Annual Academy Awards take place Sunday, Feb. 22 at 7 p.m. ET live on ABC.
