Israeli Soldiers Who Beat French Journalists to Be Disciplined (Video)

Military says, “Forces operated in contradiction to procedures and in violation of standing orders” in dealing with Agence France-Presse journalists

The Israeli military will discipline soldiers who were caught on camera assaulting Agence France-Presse journalists, the army announced Saturday.

On Friday, the French journalists were covering a protest in the West Bank when Israeli soldiers started beating them in an “unprovoked attack,” according to The Foreign Press Association.

FPA added that the soldiers aimed weapons at the journalists and hit one, sending him to the ground. Their cameras were badly damaged, which will costs thousands.

The Israeli military said, “Forces operated in contradiction to procedures and in violation of standing orders” in dealing with AFP journalists.

The extent of the punishment faced by the soldiers was not disclosed.
