Jamie Chung Joins Fox’s Untitled X-Men Pilot as Blink

Bryan Singer is directing live-action comic book adaptation

Jamie Chung has joined the cast of Fox’s untitled Marvel action adventure series, TheWrap has learned.

Chung will play the character of Blink, a mutant with teleportation powers who is familiar to Marvel comic book readers.

Currently called the “Marvel Action-Adventure Series,” the new drama pilot’s connection to X-Men comes from its storyline, which follows two ordinary parents who discover their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants who must fight to survive.

Chung joins Blair Redford as the second cast member on the project. Redford will play a Native American mutant named Sam, the leader of an underground network of mutants.

Show creator Matt Nix previously told reporters that his series would have nods to Fox’s big-screen cinematic universe, and fit within the world set up by the movies.

Nix will write and executive produce the new project, with Lauren Shuler Donner, Bryan Singer, Simon Kinberg, Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory also serving as EPs.

The new project joins FX’s “Legion,” spearheaded by Noah Hawley, which follows a character who is Professor Xavier’s son in the original comic books.

Chung will recur on the upcoming season of Hulu’s “Casual” and also appeared on Fox’s DC comic book show “Gotham.” She is represented by by Gersh, 3 Arts and attorney Todd Rubenstein.
