‘Jessica Jones’ Fights Her Past in First Full Trailer for Netflix Series (Video)

Marvel Comics adaptation starts streaming Nov. 20

Netflix released the first full-length trailer for “Jessica Jones” on Friday.

In the trailer, we get our first real look at Krysten Ritter as the Marvel heroine, who opens a private detective agency after a disastrous stint as a superhero. We also get a first full look at Mike Colter as fellow hero Luke Cage and are teased with the appearance of David Tennant as the villainous Kilgrave.

Jones has super strength and the ability to fly, to at least some degree. But Kilgrave, who can manipulate the minds of others, forced her to commit terrible acts. She now lives in Hell’s Kitchen and indulges in alcohol to keep the memories out of her head.

“Jessica Jones” is the second of four planned Marvel Netflix shows. “Daredevil,” also based in Hell’s Kitchen, premiered earlier this year, while Colter’s Luke Cage will get his own show next. After the release of the “Iron Fist” series, all four heroes will unite for “The Defenders” miniseries event.

Melissa Rosenberg serves as showrunner in addition to executive producing along with Liz Friedman. Jeph Loeb, Marvel’s head of television, also serves as executive producer.

“Jessica Jones” debuts Nov. 20 on Netflix.
