Jimmy Kimmel to Host Emmy Awards Again

ABC late-night funnyman emceed 2012 Emmys

After a four-year hiatus, Jimmy Kimmel is returning to host the Emmys once-again on ABC. Last month, TheWrap reported that negotiations were heading this way.

“Jimmy Kimmel is the consummate showman,” said Channing Dungey, president of ABC Entertainment. “With Kimmel at the helm, expect to be at the edge of your seat for a bigger, bolder, and better-than-ever Emmy event.”

“I am excited to be hosting the Emmys again. I have a feeling I’m going to be great,” quipped Kimmel.

Separately, the Television Academy announced that the Creative Arts Emmy Awards will take place over two nights, Saturday and Sunday, Sep. 10 and 11, at the Microsoft Theater. Bob Bain will executive produce that one.

Primetime Emmy nominations will be unveiled the morning of Thursday, July 14. The main show has yet to announce its executive producer(s).

The 68th Primetime Emmy Awards will be broadcast live from Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, Sep. 18 at 8/7c — that’s 5 p.m. PT.
