Joanna Gaines is going to star in her very own cooking show on her and husband Chip Gaines’ upcoming TV channel, Magnolia Network.
Jo revealed the news when she and Chip sat down with Jimmy Fallon on Thursday’s “Tonight Show,” which filmed at the University of Texas at Austin. Watch the former HGTV “Fixer Upper” stars make the announcement in the video above.
“Additional details will be released in the coming months, but this marks the first official sign of Joanna’s return to television,” Discovery said in a statement Friday,
To make room for Magnolia on cable, Discovery is rebranding its DIY Network.
Jo’s cooking show will be part of the rebranded cable channel’s initial slate of programming for its October 2020 launch, which also includes “Home on the Road” (working title), a six-episode reality show that follows the husband and wife tandem of Abner Ramirez and Amanda Sudano Ramirez as they tour North America with their band JOHNNYSWIM.
Magnolia is a joint venture between the Gaineses and Discovery.
Joanna Gaines’ second cookbook, “Magnolia Table, Volume 2,” will be released nationwide on April 7, 2020, two years after the best-selling first volume first hit shelves.
