Joe Biden and ‘Rocky’ Win Democratic Convention Battle of the Intro Music (Video)

Veep comes out to a song that couldn’t be more perfect for him or the Philadelphia location

On the third night of the Democratic Convention, someone finally hit on the perfect intro music: Vice President Joe Biden jogged across the stage to the theme from “Rocky.”

Get it? Because he’s a fighter. And because the convention is in Philadelphia. And Biden’s from Pennsylvania — Scranton, not Philly, but still.

Looking out at a sea of red signs that said simply “Joe,” the vice president praised Americans who are the Rockys of the world.

“They get up every morning, every day, they put one foot in front of the other,” he said.

Biden then enlisted an old catchphrase to say Donald Trump doesn’t care about the middle-class: “That’s a bunch of malarky,” he said.

And he got the crowd to chant a new catchphrase about Trump: “Not a clue. Not a clue. Not a clue.”

No other presidential candidate “has ever known less or has been less prepared to deal with our national security,” he continued.

He also offered his endorsement of the Democratic nominee, Hillary Clinton, and his potential successor, vice presidential nominee Tim Kaine.

“During her years as secretary of state, once a week we had breakfast in my home. Everybody knows she’s smart. Everybody knows she’s tough. But I know what she’s passionate about,” he said. “I know about Hillary Clinton.”
