Jon Stewart Rips Texas Republicans, Sees No Blue Flip in Sight for Red State (Video)

On Sen. Dan Patrick, Stewart said: “You couldn’t be redder than that guy if you took Clifford the Big Red Dog and shoved him in the Devil’s rectum”

On his final day in Austin, Texas, Jon Stewart chained himself to the “Daily Show” desk, claiming that he isn’t leaving the city that keeps it “weird.” However, if there is one thing that can get the Comedy Central host to leave the kind southern state with top-notch barbecue for his dreary New York City, it’s the politics.

While some talking heads see an opportunity for Texas to turn blue — changing over from a Republican state to a Democratic state — Stewart isn’t finding any evidence of that anywhere.

“Really? Texas is going blue? Listen, Texas has been a conservative state since dinosaurs roamed it 6,000 years ago — at least, that date’s according to Texas state high school textbooks,” the “Daily Show” host quipped.

The comedian then dropped bombs on several super-conservative Texas politicians, including Greg Abbott, Louie Gohmert and Sam Johnson, among others.

His best joke was saved for Republican Sen. Dan Patrick, who currently has a huge lead in his race — a gap that appears to be echoed statewide.

“You couldn’t be redder than that guy if you took Clifford the Big Red Dog and shoved him in the Devil’s rectum,” Stewart said.
