Jonas Brothers Have Broken Up: ‘It’s Over for Now’

After cancelling their tour due to a “deep rift,” the Jonas Brothers say they are no longer a band

Nick, Joe and Kevin Jonas will always be brothers, but they are no longer The Jonas Brothers, as the band that made them famous has broken up.

Joe told People the decision was “unanimous.”

“It’s over for now,” Kevin said.

Nick also hesitated to say that the band was done for good: “It’s really hard to say ‘forever.’ We’re closing a chapter, for sure.”

The news was not unexpected. On Oct. 9, the band canceled a 19-date tour just a few days before it set to begin. A spokesman said there was a “deep rift within the band” and “a big disagreement over their music direction.” The band deleted its official Twitter account shortly thereafter.

Joe and Nick tweeted messages on Oct. 22 asking fans to “please hold while we get our shit together” and “bear with us,” but it seems that they were unable to work out their issues.

Christmas might be awkward.
