Josh Charles Joins Season 3 of Showtime’s ‘Masters of Sex’

“The Good Wife” alum will play a fragrance entrepreneur who enlists the help of stars Michael Sheen and Lizzy Caplan

Emmy-nominated actor Josh Charles has joined the third season of Showtime’s drama,”Masters of Sex” in a season-long arc.

Charles is set to play Daniel Logan, a self-made businessman working in the fragrance industry. In the show, his character will attempt to bottle the smell of sex and market an aphrodisiac to the public so he seeks out Michael Sheen and Lizzy Caplan‘s lead character William Masters and Virginia Johnson for their expertise.

Charles is best known for starring as Will Gardner on “The Good Wife,” who was dramatically gunned down in an explosive courtroom scene that took fans completely by surprise (TheWrap reported). He is currently filming the TV series, “Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp.”

The show chronicles the unusual lives, romance and pop-culture trajectory of the pioneers of human sexuality, William Masters and Virginia Johnson. It follows their research on the sexual revolution, which takes them from a mid-western teaching hospital in St. Louis to the cover of Time magazine.

Charles is represented by William Morris Endeavor.

The series is an adaptation of Thomas Maier’s book “Masters of Sex: The Life and Times of William Masters and Virginia Johnson, The Couple Who Taught America How To Love.” The book was developed into a TV series by Michelle Ashford, and produced by Sony Pictures Television.

The new season premieres July 12 at 10 p.m.
