Judd Apatow continued speaking out against Bill Cosby Wednesday, comparing the comedic icon to an immoral religious figure.

“He got a pass because he’s like a pedophile priest,” he said on CNN’s “New Day.”

“He does an enormous amount of positive to the world then has this other side. No one wants to attack someone who is so charitable … That makes it so tragic. He betrayed everybody and it’s very, very sad. But, you can’t let him just run around and get away with it. People who rape people go to jail for the rest of their lives.”

The “Trainwreck” director argued that there need to be tougher laws when it comes to rape, particularly extending the statute of limitations to allow for that filing of charges against rapists even if a significant amount of time has passed since the alleged incident.

Apatow also poured cold water on Whoopi Goldberg’s initial defense of Cosby.

“You don’t give people sleeping pills at the top of a date. This is one of the most awful people that you’ve ever heard of.”
