Kanye West Gets Branded a ‘Tw-t’ in Garbage Singer’s Facebook Rant

Garbage singer Shirley Manson took Kanye West to task in a Monday night Facebook post, calling him “small and petty and spoilt,” as well as a “complete twat” for his actions at the prior evening’s Grammy Awards.

“It is YOU who is so busy disrespecting artistry,” she wrote. “You disrespect your own remarkable talents and more importantly you disrespect the talent, hard work and tenacity of all artists when you go so rudely and savagely after such an accomplished and humble artist like BECK.”

At the 57th Annual Grammys, when Beck won Album of the Year, West briefly followed the musician up on stage, before thinking better of repeating his actions from the 2009 MTV VMAs, where the rapper stole the microphone and spotlight from Taylor Swift to claim that Beyonce was robbed of the award.

West didn’t exactly bite his tongue though on Sunday night. After the CBS broadcast concluded, the hip-hop artist said: “Beck needs to respect artistry, he should’ve given his award to Beyoncé.”

“I just know that the Grammys, if they want real artists to keep coming back, they need to stop playing with us. We ain’t gonna play with them no more,” he told E! Online. “We tired of it. When you keep on diminishing art and not respecting the craft and slapping people in the face after they deliver monumental feats of music — you’re disrespectful to inspiration.”

In her open retort, Manson said that West makes “a mockery of all musicians and music from every genre.”

“Grow up and stop throwing your toys around,” she added. “You are making yourself look like a complete twat.”

“Ps.I am pretty certain Beyonce doesn’t need you fighting any battles on her account,” Manson concluded. “Seems like she’s got everything covered perfectly well on her own.”
