Katherine Heigl, Rosario Dawson to Catfight in Warner Bros. Thriller ‘Unforgettable’

Veteran producer Denise Di Novi will direct the film after Amma Asante abandoned the project last year

Katherine Heigl and Rosario Dawson will replace Kate Hudson and Kerry Washington as the stars of Denise Di Novi’s directorial debut “Unforgettable,” TheWrap has learned.

The Warner Bros. thriller finds Dawson being tormented by her new husband’s mentally unstable ex-wife, who will be played by Heigl.

Heigl, who hinted at her casting in a tweet on Monday, recently played another disturbed housewife in “Home Sweet Hell” opposite Patrick Wilson.

Di Novi and Alison Greenspan are producing “Unforgettable,” which was written by Christina Hodson and David Leslie Johnson. Production starts next week in Los Angeles.

Di Novi previously worked with Heigl on “Life As We Know It.” The veteran producer took over the director’s chair from Amma Asante (“Belle”) after she abandoned the project earlier this year.

While “Unforgettable” is the kind of refreshing mid-budget thriller that prospered in the ’90s and studios rarely make anymore, it is yet another example of Warner Bros. swinging for a double with two stars who are hardly a sure thing at the box office. The similarly-themed “Obsessed” grossed $73 million worldwide despite starring Beyonce and Idris Elba.

Variety first reported both castings.
