“The Simpsons” writer Kevin Curran has died at the age of 59.
“Simpsons” showrunner Al Jean shared the news on Twitter Tuesday.
“Kevin Curran was a sweet, brilliant man who said many hilarious things, some unprintable, others which will live forever in a children’s cartoon,” Jean later said in a statement to TheWrap.
Before “The Simpsons,” Curran wrote for “Married… With Children” and also voiced Buck the dog, the Bundy family pet.
Curran, who was born in 1957, attended Harvard University, where he edited the Harvard Lampoon. He then wrote for “The Late Show With David Letterman,” where he wrote the very first “Top Ten List” for the late night host and won his first two Emmy Awards.
On “The Simpsons,” Curran wrote 11 episodes, including one “Treehouse of Horror” installment, and won three more Emmys as a co-executive producer, a title he held until 2015.
