Landon Donovan’s EA Sports Commercial Is Perfect Revenge on Team USA (Video)

No Brazil, no problem

Don’t worry about Landon Donovan, U.S. soccer fans: your greatest player ever is doing just fine.

EA Sports released a perfectly hilarious commercial on Monday starring the legendary striker for its game “2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil.”

Donovan was somewhat surprisingly cut from the team shortly before the international tournament. He has since landed a role with ESPN as a soccer analyst, but perhaps comedic acting is his true next calling.

The ad opens on a man getting out of bed, slipping on his USA house shoes and bathrobe. It’s revealed to be Donovan, who is dancing, making breakfast and playing the electronic simulation, of which he is still very much an integral part of.

The commercial sees the player rocking the PlayStation 3 version, on which he wins the whole thing and hoists the trophy, all while singing, “I’m not going to Brazil.”

(Editor’s note: The original post said Donovan was playing the PlayStation 4 version, but it is actually a PS3 controller. TheWrap regrets the error.)
