Despite the LAX active shooter reports from Sunday night proving to be false, many passengers were left in fear for their lives.

Among those caught up in the chaos were “Frozen” star Josh Gad and NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt. Both men tweeted about what was happening as police searched the terminals for the reported shooter.

“At #LAX right now. Chaos. [Cops] with rifles everywhere,” Gad tweeted. “Cops literally raided the terminal screaming to get out. Got my kids and ran for dear life. Thank God it appears to be nothing. Still awful.”

Holt, ever the reporter, gave his own account of the events via social media. “Arriving at LAX off flight when people started pouring out of term 4 onto Tarmac. Security said ‘shots fired. Run!’ Now in vehicle on taxiwy,” he wrote.

“Witness tells me she heard ‘pops” in lax term 4″ Holt continued. “Others say they just heard ‘run!’ Those evacuated to Tarmac just allowed back in.”

Around 9 p.m. local time, people began reporting hearing gunshots in Terminal 8, per CNN. Approximately 30 minutes later after police had swept several terminals, it was discovered the “gunshots” were simply a series of loud noises involved in normal airport operations.
