Leah Remini is teaming back up with Kevin James by joining his CBS comedy “Kevin Can Wait” as a series regular for Season 2.

She will reprise her role as wise-cracking police officer Vanessa Cellucci. Remini introduced the character during the two-part season finale last month.

James and Remini are quite familiar with one another, having co-starred on the CBS comedy “The King of Queens,” which signed off in May 2007 after nine seasons.

“Kevin Can Wait” was the 2016-17 season’s top new comedy in total viewers (averaging 9.19 million) and adults aged 18-49 (2.1 rating). Both parts of the Season 1 finale ranked as the night’s top scripted show in the key demo.

Remini, who has become an outspoken critic of Scientology after leaving the church, also appears on A&E’s “Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath.” The docuseries returns later this year with a 10-episode second season.

“Kevin Can Wait” launches Season 2 on Monday, Sept. 25, on CBS.
