Malin Akerman Joins Paul Giamatti and Damian Lewis on Showtime’s ‘Billions’

Pilot for the drama series exploring the world of high finance is currently in production in New York City

Malin Akerman will star opposite Damian Lewis and Paul Giamatti in Showtime drama pilot “Billions,” the premium cable network said on Tuesday.
Akerman, last seen on TV on HBO comedy “The Comeback,” will play Lewis’ wife in the drama exploring the world of high finance by tracking the approaching collision between two titanic figures — the hard charging, whip-smart U.S. Attorney Chuck Rhoades (Giamatti), and the brilliant, ambitious hedge fund king, Bobby “Axe” Axelrod (Lewis).
The pilot, directed by Neil Burger (“Divergent”), is currently shooting in New York, with co-stars Maggie Siff, Toby Leonard Moore, Condola Rashad and David Costabile. It was written and executive produced by Brian Koppelman and David Levien and Andrew Ross Sorkin.
The actress also appeared on “Trophy Wife,” and recently starred in “Final Girls” opposite Taissa Farmiga and Adam Devine, “The Ticket” opposite Dan Stevens and “I’ll See You in My Dreams,” which was sold at this year’s Sundance Film Festival.

Akerman is repped by Sanders Armstrong Caserta and WME.
