Man Found With Rosie O’Donnell’s Missing Teenage Daughter Arrested

Steven Sheerer is facing charges for endangerment of a minor and distribution of obscenity to a minor

Steven Sheerer, the 25-year-old man found with Rosie O’Donnell’s missing daughter was arrested by New Jersey police on Friday.

After discovering inappropriate messages exchanged between Sheerer and O’Donnell’s 17-year-old daughter Chelsea on her cell phone, New Jersey police arrested Sheerer in his home in Barnegat, New Jersey around 8:30 p.m.

Sheerer faces charges of 3rd Degree Distribution of Obscenity to a Minor and 3rd Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Each carries a penalty of five years on New Jersey state prison if convicted. He is currently being held on $40,000 bail in Ocean County Jail.

O’Donnell’s 17-year-old daughter Chelsea was was found at Sheerer’s home in on Tuesday following her disappearance with her dog, Bear, on Aug. 11 from the family home in Nyack, New York.

Sheerer had previously been arrested and charged with third degree heroin possession in March 2012.

The former “View” host revealed Sheerer’s criminal past on Twitter, posting a photo along with the caption: “charged wthird-degree possession of heroin with the intent to distribute.” She went on to post links for and retweet news reports detailing his arrests.
