WGN America’s ‘Manhattan’ Trailer: It’s the Bomb! (Video)

Period drama about the clandestine development of the A-bomb promises personal intrigue as well

Forget about coming to an explosive conclusion — WGN America’s upcoming drama series “Manhattan” is blowing things up before it even starts.

The series, which premieres July 27, is set in 1940s Los Alamos, N.M., during the Manhattan Project, as researchers worked to build the first atomic bombs in secret.

However, given the trailer’s warning that “the most explosive secrets were personal,” the series plans to explore plenty of non-scientific intrigue as well.

The series, which is created and written by Sam Shaw (“Masters of Sex”) and directed by Thomas Schlamme (“The West Wing”), stars Rachel Brosnahan, Michael Chernus and Christopher Denham.
