Margot Robbie to Star in Sony’s Live-Action ‘Peter Rabbit’

James Corden, Rose Byrne, Domhnall Gleeson, Daisy Ridley and Elizabeth Debicki are already set to star

Margot Robbie is in final talks to join Sony’s live-action “Peter Rabbit,” an individual with knowledge of the project told TheWrap.

James Corden, Rose ByrneDomhnall Gleeson, Daisy Ridley and Elizabeth Debicki are already set to star in the film directed by Will Gluck.

It will be a family-oriented comedy and a modern version of the classic Beatrix Potter story, centered around the rivalry between the mischievous Peter Rabbit and Mr. McGregor.

Peter Rabbit will be voiced by Corden, while Gleeson will voice McGregor. The character named Bea will be played by Byrne. Robbie will voice a bunny.

Zareh Nalbandian of Animal Logic Entertainment is producing, while Doug Belgrad is executive producing through his 2.0 Entertainment banner, which is co-financing the project. Sony’s Lauren Abrahams is overseeing the project for the studio. The script was written by Rob Lieber.

Robbie recently starred in “Suicide Squad,” “Legend of Tarzan” and “Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.” She will next voice a character in the animated film “Larrikins,” due to be released next year.

She is represented by Management 360, CAA, attorney Jeff Bernstein and Aran Michael Management.
