Mark-Paul Gosselaar has been set as the male lead in Fox’s baseball drama pilot “Pitch,” TheWrap has learned.

Gosselaar joins the previously cast Kylie Bunbury in the drama.

Bunbury plays Ginny, a young female pitcher who becomes the first woman to play in the major leagues.

Gosselaar will play Mike Lawson, described as a handsome, charming, self-assured future Hall of Fame MLB catcher who will show her the ropes.

The pilot was written by Dan Fogelman and Rick Singer and will be directed by Paris Barclay.

Gosselaar is best known for his role as Zack Morris on “Saved by the Bell,” and his other TV credits include “Franklin & Bash” and NBC’s recently canceled comedy “Truth Be Told.” He is represented by CAA and Luber Roklin Entertainment.
