Marvel’s ‘Cloak and Dagger’ Series Gets First Trailer (Video)

Freeform also releases trailers for “The Bold Type,” comedy “Alone Together”

Freeform has released first trailers for its first Marvel series, “Cloak and Dagger,” Cosmopolitan drama series “The Bold Type” and comedy “Alone Together.”

Based on the Marvel comic series, “Cloak and Dagger” follows the romance between Tandy Bowen (Olivia Holt) and Tyrone Johnson (Aubrey Joseph), two teenagers from very different backgrounds who find themselves burdened and awakened to newly acquired superpowers while falling in love.

Tandy can emit light daggers and Tyrone has the ability to engulf others in darkness. They quickly learn they are better together than apart — but their feelings for each other make their already complicated world even more challenging. The series is a co-production of Marvel Television and ABC Signature Studios.

“Cloak and Dagger” will be released in early 2018.

“The Bold Type” is set at a Cosmopolitan-esque magazine called Scarlet, where three best friends lean on one another as they find their own voices in a sea of intimidating leaders. Together they explore sexuality, identity, love and fashion.

The drama will premiere with a 2-hour episode on July 11.

“Alone Together” comes from comedy troupe Lonely Island and follows single-camera comedy starring Esther Povitsky and Benji Aflalo as two best friends who want nothing more than to be accepted by the vain and status-obsessed culture of Los Angeles.

It will premiere in early 2018.
