Yahoo's Search Result: Bartz

Yahoo named former Autodesk chief executive Carol Bartz as its CEO on Tuesday, while current president Sue Decker, who had interviewed for the role, will leave the company. Bartz's selection comes after a two-month-long search set off by co-founder Jerry Yang in November after he agreed to step down as CEO. Bartz, 60, is known as a hard-working, straight-talking Silicon Valley exec who could help to restart Yahoo after a directionless year of collapsed deals, exec defections and a plummeting stock price. Her appointment may also restart discussions with Microsoft or Time Warner's troubled AOL unit, according to Variety. However, Bartz has no experience in advertising, which is where Yahoo makes most of its money.
