George W. Bush is giving his first televised interview since leaving the Oval Office to Matt Lauer, NBC announced on Monday.

The interview will air in primetime on November 8, the day before Bush’s memoir, “Decision Points,” hits stores. “Decision Points” is slated to be released by Crown on November 9.

Bush will also appear live on the “Today” show on November 10.

The 43rd president will talk to Lauer about the book and “the defining decisions he has made in his personal and political life,” NBC said.

It’s not terribly surprising Lauer was able to score the Bush Q&A coup. He interviewed Bush several times during his presidency and election campaigns – and “Today” employs Bush’s daughter, Jenna Bush Hager, as a regular contributor.
