Ohio Newspaper Group Files for Bankruptcy

Brown Media Holdings Co. and Brown Publishing Co., the family-owned newspaper publishers based in Cincinnati, has filed for Chapt. 11 bankruptcy, the Associated Press reported.

The companies plans to assets in 10 states to a bidder they have already lined up. They have also asked the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of New York for approval of $2.5 million in financing. 

Among the companies' newspapers are The Delaware Gazette in central Ohio and the Piqua Daily Call, theTroy Daily News and the Wilmington News Journal in western Ohio.
