President Obama is getting some Hollywood love -- and money -- today.

The president will attend a fund-raiser at the Holmby Hills home of "The Bold and the Beautiful" executive producer Bradley Bell. Will Ferrell, well-known for his impersonation of Obama's predecessor, George W. Bush, is hosting the event, which will feature an acoustic set by the Foo Fighters.

After the music, a small group will stick around for a private dinner.

Bell has a half-dozen daytime Emmys for "The Bold and the Beautiful," and his wife, Colleen, is a producer on the show. Other co-hosts include John Emerson, a former deputy assistant to President Clinton who now is president, Capital Guardian Trust Company, Personal Investment Management; his wife, Kimberly Marteau Emerson, the former director of Public Liaison for the U.S. Information Agency, now a lawyer in Los Angeles; Noah Mamet, a consultant whose father is the writer David Mamet; Ovation chairman Ken Solomon and his wife Lissa Solomon; and Sarah and Joe Kiani.

The events are expected to raise about $3 million.

Tickets for the sold-out Foo Fighters event started at $250 per person.

Entrance to the more intimate dinner is significantly costlier: $35,800 -- the maximum donation allowable by law. The first $5,000 goes to the president's reelection campaign; the remaining $30,800 goes to the Democratic National Committee.

According to the campaign website, doors open at 4 p.m., and "due to security reasons ... close promptly at 5:30 p.m."

According to the White House, Air Force One is scheduled to arrive at Los Angeles International Airport at 4 p.m. Other published reports have the president arriving at 3 p.m., traveling by helicopter to the Veterans Administration Hospital in West Los Angeles and then driving through the West Side to the fund-raiser.

The president will speak at the reception at 6:10 p.m. and at the dinner at 7:50 p.m.

Published reports say the president will return to the Beverly Hilton between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m.

The president will attend a 7 a.m. fundraiser in Corona del Mar on Thursday morning before heading to San Francisco.

The visit is President Obama's ninth to Los Angeles since taking office.
