Ed Schultz -- host of MSNBC's "The Ed Show" -- said on Wednesday that he has been asked by Democrats to run for senate in North Dakota.

Schultz, appearing on "Morning Joe," said "I'm flattered, I'm honored," but is not quite ready to hit the campaign trail.

"I've worked very hard to go from Fargo to 30 Rock," Schultz said. Though he isn't ruling it out, he is "a long way from any kind of consideration."

Chris Matthews, you'll recall, once seriously mulled running for a senatorial run in Pennsylvania (he was even advised to quit MSNBC while doing so) but chose to stay with "Hardball."
