Mischa Barton’s Lawyer Declares ‘Another Court Victory’ in Actress’ Revenge-Porn Case (Video)

“We’re just very happy with the way the judge ruled today,” “The O.C.” alum says

Mischa Barton is going into July 4th weekend with an extra reason to celebrate.

Barton appeared with her lawyer Lisa Bloom on Friday following a hearing in her revenge-porn case, with Bloom declaring that the “The O.C.” alum had scored “another court victory.”

“We’re very appreciative that the court ruled in our favor today,” Bloom said. “It was another court victory for Mischa Barton in our continued fight against somebody who’s trying to release explicit images of her without her consent. ”

Noting that the judge had extended a protective order for the actress, Bloom added, “Every woman has the right to control which images of her own body and face should be distributed  … Mischa Barton has the right to make that choice. Every woman has the right to make that choice.”

“We’re just very happy with the way the judge ruled today,” Barton added, noting that she and Bloom will continue to fight “for justice in this case.”

According to TMZ, Barton was scheduled to face off against her ex-boyfriend Adam Spaw — aka Adam Shaw — in court Friday, but Spaw wasn’t present due to a family illness.

The judge set a final hearing in the matter for July 21, according to Bloom. In the meantime, the judge renewed Barton’s restraining order.

In March, Barton obtained restraining orders against two former boyfriends, amid reports that a sex tape of featuring her was being shopped to online porn outlets.

The restraining orders state that the former boyfriends, Jon Zacharias and Spaw, “may not sell, distribute, give away or show any naked photos or videos of any type of Mischa Barton.”

According to the orders, Barton began dating Zacharias in October, and during their “brief time together” he “recorded me having sex with him, taking a shower and took other naked pictures of me WITHOUT MY PERMISSION OR KNOWLEDGE. Jon is trying to sell those tapes without my permission for $500,000.”

In the restraining order request, Barton said that, after she broke up with Zacharias, she began seeing Shaw, who informed Barton that he was a former friend of Zacharias and “told me that Mr. Zacharias was bragging about having the intimate photographs and videos of me.”

During a press conference with Bloom in March, Barton told the media, “I’ve been put through an incredibly hard and trying time. This is a painful situation, and my absolute worst fear was realized when I learned that someone I thought I loved and trusted was filming my most intimate and private moments, without my consent with hidden cameras.”

The actress added, “And then I learned something even worse — that somebody is trying to sell these videos and make them public.”
