Mischa Barton on Revenge-Porn Shocker: ‘My Absolute Worst Fear Was Realized’ (Video)

Actress says that “someone I thought I loved and trusted was filming my most intimate and private moments, without my consent”

Mischa Barton has broken her silence on reports that a sex tape featuring the former “The O.C.” actress is being shopped to online porn outlets, saying, “my absolute worst fear was realized.”

The actress added that the footage of “my most intimate and private moments” was shot without her consent.

During a press conference with her attorney Lisa Bloom on Wednesday, Barton told the media, “I’ve been put through an incredibly hard and trying time. This is a painful situation, and my absolute worst fear was realized when I learned that someone I thought I loved and trusted was filming my most intimate and private moments, without my consent with hidden cameras.”

The actress added, “And then I learned something even worse — that somebody is trying to sell these videos and make them public.”

Barton went on to discuss the “pain and humiliation that I have had to go through,” characterizing it as a “horrific experience.”

“It is a very hard thing to do but I am glad that I am finally standing up for myself,” Barton added.

Bloom issued a strongly worded statement on Tuesday, following a report that a sex tape of Barton was being shopped around. In the statement, Bloom vowed to “come after” anyone who attempted to peddle the footage.

“It has been reported that naked or sexually explicit images of Ms. Barton are being ‘shopped around.’ Ms. Barton does not consent to any disclosure of any such images. She believes that she was recorded without her consent by someone she was seeing at the time,” Bloom said. “There’s a name for this disgusting conduct: Revenge pornography. Revenge pornography is a form of sexual assault, and it is also a crime and a civil wrong in California. And we will not stand for it.”

Bloom continued, “I have a message for anyone who attempts to traffic in these photos or videos of Ms. Barton: We will find you, and we will come after you. We will fully prosecute you under every available criminal and civil law.”

The attorney concluded, “You proceed at your peril.”

Bloom’s statement came on the heels of a Daily Mail report that an “x-rated video” featuring Barton “is being shopped around Hollywood.”

According to the Daily Mail’s report, the purported video “shows Barton having sex with a dark haired man” and “is being offered to the highest bidder with the starting price of $500,000.”

The Mail added that “a number of porn industry giants” are considering the offer.

The Mail added that the footage is believed to have been shot “at a private Hollywood residence within the past year.”

According to the Mail, in the video the actress “is seen wearing a grey hoodie and nothing else having sex on a double bed with a man wearing just a black T-shirt.”
