Disney 3D sequel "Tron: Legacy" got off to a solid if unspectacular start Friday, matching pre-release tracking with a $17.4 million first-day performance at the domestic box-office, according to studio data.

The PG-rated follow-up to the 1982 Jeff Bridges sci-fi cult classic "Tron" is on pace to narrowly exceed pre-release predictions of around $45 million for the weekend.

In second place amid a crowded market for 3D films, Warner's Hanna Barbera adaptation "Yogi Bear" grossed an estimated $4.6 million Friday, putting it off track to meet studio hopes for a $20 million start.

Also missing its mark, which was set in the low teens, Sony's James L. Brooks-written and -directed ensembler "How Do You Know" grossed just $2.6 million Friday and probably won't break double figures this weekend.

That's a tough start for a $100 million, A-list-driven movie, which stars Jack Nicholson, Reece Witherspoon, Owen Wilson and Paul Rudd.

Among adult dramas, Paramount's expansion of David O. Russell boxing biopic "The Fighter" yielded an estimated $3.9 million Friday, with the movie expanding from four theaters to 2,503 locations after it received six Golden Globe nominations, including acting nods to Mark Wahlberg, Christian Bale and Amy Adams.

Overall, the domestic box office was down about 4 percent from the same weekend last year, which saw the debut of James Cameron's record-breaking "Avatar."

Here is how the top 10 finished Friday.
