‘Casablanca’ Returns to Theaters to Celebrate 70th Anniversary

TCM, Fathom Events and Warner Home Video are teaming for the March 21 event that will be available in nearly 500 theaters

"Casablanca" will be shown in nearly 500 theaters across the country on March 21, a rare opportunity to see the Oscar-winning love story between Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman on the big screen.

Turner Classic Movies, Fathom Events and Warner Home Video are teaming up to sponsor "Turner Classic Movies Presents Casablanca 70th Anniversary Event," the one-night-only showing that will include a TCM-produced introduction by TCM host Robert Osborne. Osborne will discuss the film's role in Hollywood history and share behind-the-scenes stories about the film.

"Casablanca" won three Oscars in 1944, including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Screenplay. The American Film Institute voted the film the No. 3 movie of all time, and the best love story, while movie critic Leonard Maltin deemed it "the best Hollywood movie of all time."

"There are few things more thrilling for movie lovers than being able to experience a true classic like Casablanca the way it was originally intended: on the big screen," said Dennis Adamovich, senior vice president of brand and digital activation for TCM, TNT and TBS, in a statement.

Tickets, and a complete listing of participating theaters, are available at FathomEvents.com.
