Summit announced Monday that it's once again moving back the release date for its upcoming Mel Gibson comedy "The Beaver," shifting its limited bow to May 6 from March 23.
The film is now scheduled to go wide on May 20.
The Jodie Foster-directed film stars Gibson as a depressed executive who finds solace while communicating through a beaver hand-puppet.
With Gibson facing myriad personal issues over the last year, the film has been completed -- and on the shelf -- for some time.
Summit did not offer up its reasons for the date switch.
