H.R. Giger, the Academy Award-winning designer and artist, has signed with WME, the agency announced Tuesday.

Giger, who won the Best Visual Effects Oscar for 1979's "Alien," will be represented for film, television and video game design.

Giger's other film credits include "Species" and "Poltergeist 2." The Swiss surrealist is known for his biomechanical style. His work is permanently exhibited at the H.R. Giger Museum in Switzerland.

The representation deal was brokered by Stephan Lokotsch of Section 9 Entertainment.

Giger's agent Les Barany will remain his key representative in the art world.
