"A GLIMPSE INSIDE THE MIND OF CHARLES SWAN III" (Feb. 8): Charlie Sheen is joining Wes Anderson regulars Bill Murray and Jason Schwartzman in Roman Coppola's latest narrative. The colorful comedy looks every bit as wacky and unpredictable as "Moonrise Kingdom" -- and maybe as Sheen's mind, too.

"STOKER" (March 1): Director Chan-wook Park ("OldBoy") makes his English-language debut, and it doesn't look like his vision got lost in translation. Mia Wasikowska stars as a teen drawn to her mysterious -- and murderous -- uncle (Matthew Goode), who shows up after her father dies to keep her unstable mother (Nicole Kidman) company. The title isn't referencing vampires, but Kidman's performance appears to pack plenty of bite.

"THE INCREDIBLE BURT WONDERSTONE" (March 15): This comedy from the writing duo responsible for "Horrible Bosses" might be one of the funniest of the year. Not only are Steve Carell, Steve Buscemi, Alan Arkin and Olivia Wilde at the top of their comedic game, but Jim Carrey finally is, too, as the titular character's magical rival who throws fireballs at strangers on the street.

"THE PLACE BEYOND THE PINES" (March 29): Two heartthrobs for the price of one. Ryan Gosling and Bradley Cooper star in this crime drama from the director of "Blue Valentine." Gosling plays a tatted-up motorcycle stunt man who robs banks to provide for his child, which puts him on a collision course with Cooper's cop character.

"IRON MAN 3" (May 3): The first installment of Robert Downey Jr.'s superhero franchise started Phase One of the Marvel movie universe, and the third will mark the beginning of Phase Two -- a series of films designed to be bigger and better than the last. Director Shane Black's return to blockbuster filmmaking features Ben Kingsley as Mandarin, Iron Man's greatest foe, who will force Tony Stark to rethink and rebuild his entire armory. 

"STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS" (May 17): J.J. Abrams injected much-needed youth and adrenaline into one of culture's most venerable franchises, bringing in Chris Pine as Capt. Kirk and Zachary Quinto as Spock. And by the looks of the trailers, this sequel may pull off a rare feat and be better than its predecessor.

"THE INTERNSHIP" (June 7): Forget "The Hangover III," Shawn Levy's latest comedy reunites Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson, whose chemistry made "Wedding Crashers" a $285 million hit in 2005. This time, the dynamic duo competes against 20-somethings for a job at a successful internet company. And to add more promise to this fish-out-of-water premise, Will Ferrell stars, too.

"MAN OF STEEL" (June 14): Christopher Nolan's realistic approach to superhero sagas and Zach Snyder's experience creating visually stunning action sequences should make Clark Kent's latest big-screen adventure forget Bryan Singer's dismal 2006 "Superman Returns."

"ELYSIUM" (Aug. 9): Science fiction will be all over the screens in 2013, but Neill Blomkamp's sophomore film is surely one to watch. Much like "District 9," it will feature dazzling visual effects while exploring segregation and classism. Instead of discriminating against aliens, this time it's the humans left living on Earth that are looked down upon by those living in a titular space station hovering above in the year 2159.

"SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR" (Oct. 4): Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller's sequel to "Sin City" has been a long time coming, and according to Rodriguez, "it will certainly be worth the wait." Mickey Rourke -- who rebooted his career as tough guy Marv in 2005 -- returns with old friends like Clive Owen, Rosario Dawson and Jessica Alba, while plenty of new faces, like Michael Madsen, will appear in the bloody tale as well.

"OLDBOY" (Oct. 11): Chan-wook Park ("Stoker") brought this Japanese manga to life with critical acclaim in 2003, but it's Spike Lee who directed this American adaptation after Steven Spielberg passed on it. The revenge tale follows a man who has five days to hunt down those responsible for imprisoning him in a room for 15 years. Josh Brolin, Elizabeth Olsen and Sharlto Copley star.
