NBC Chairman Defends Jimmy Fallon Amid Ratings Decline: No Concern ‘Whatsoever’

TCA 2017: “Jimmy has his own way of doing it,” Robert Greenblatt says about tackling Trump

Robert Greenblatt is weighing in on Jimmy Fallon‘s recent decline in ratings and buzz.

The NBC entertainment chairman spoke to reporters at the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour on Thursday, where he was asked about why “The Tonight Show” seems to be struggling amid the political turmoil of the Trump era.

“I have no concern about it whatsoever,” Greenblatt said about the late-night series. “I think that will even itself out, I say laughingly.”

The exec maintained that Fallon has no fear about going after Trump: “Jimmy has his own way of doing it.”

“Once things even themselves out, you’ll see those household ratings even out a little,” he continued. “All the late night talents approach the news cycle in their own way.”
