Nick Cannon Honors His Grandma on Zoe Saldana’s AOL Series ‘My Hero’ (Exclusive Video)

“Drumline: A New Beat” star appears on short form web series

Nick Cannon proves not all heroes wear capes on an upcoming episode of AOL’s inspirational web series “My Hero.”

The “Drumline: A New Beat” star gives his grandmother Marie Cannon a wrapped gift and thanks her for helping to raise him in a sentimental clip from Zoe Saldana-produced show, which hits AOL Originals on Friday.

“If I could find a perfect example of a hero, I would say it was my grandmother Marie Cannon,” he tells her. “You’re the backbone and the matriarch of our family — just sacrificing and giving so much. You’re my hero and I love you.”

The heartwarming series hopes to shine a light on those who helped Hollywood’s biggest stars when they needed it most. In addition to Cannon, other top-billed participants include “Dancing With the Stars” veteran Julianne Hough, TV personality Maria Menounos and “Teen Wolf” star Tyler Posey.
